He's a friend. We kind of arrived here on the same day, actually.

But, um. I guess what I want to say is I worry about him. About when things get violent here. He's from the early 18th century on Earth - no magic, no advanced technology, and he's just a regular human. If he gets targeted - well, there's a lot of people he'd have no chance of defending himself against.

I think a stun-only phaser would be a good start, at least. I might have to teach him how it works, but it's better than nothing.

He's a sweet guy. I trust him not to misuse it.
